Overview of features
As with nearly all cordless drills these days, Cacoop’s 20V MAX 2-Speed drill features a lithium-ion battery that has been selected to maximize the amount of run time you get out of each charge. On top of that, the included one-hour fast charger can you get you from a drained battery to a full charge in only 60 minutes.
The drill itself is lightweight and compact, weighing in at only 2.73 lbs. It also offers two different variable speeds (0-350 and 0-1350 rpm) — a high-speed option for drilling applications and a low-speed option for screwdriving jobs. The 19 different torque position settings will also let you tackle a huge variety of DIY projects with ease.
This product also offers quite a few extra features that make life more convenient for users. There’s a built-in slot to hold a single 5.5mm double-ended drill bit, a ⅜” key chuck with auto spindle lock, an LED work light that will let you get the job done even in dim lighting situations, and an LED power indicator as well to let you know how well your charge is holding up.
How to get the most out of your cordless drill
In spite of the fact that cordless drills are one of the most common types of power tools out there, it’s still quite surprising how many people don’t know how to use them properly.
The single biggest tip that we could give new drill owners would be to make sure you completely understand the different torque settings and how they work.
You can tackle a huge amount of different projects with this pool — provided you’re using the proper settings. If you’re unsure of how different torque settings work, there are plenty of free resources available online that you can learn from.
While we can easily recommend this cordless drill to anyone looking to pick up their first budget cordless drill, we can also understand that not everyone feels comfortable with buying a power tool from a relatively unknown brand.
If that sounds like you, then we would recommend going with the Bosch 18V Compact 1/2" Drill/Driver Kit. It’s a bit more expensive, but the higher price tag is definitely worth it — it’s one drill that you won’t be disappointed with.
While Cacoop isn’t as well-known as other major brands like Bosch or Black & Decker, the fact remains that they still manufacture some rather impressive power tools. Their 20V MAX 2-Speed cordless drill is a great example of this, and as far as entry-level cordless drills go, this is an easy product to recommend.
